Tayport Fruit Fest, Saturday 19 October, 11am – 4pm, in the Burgh Chambers Gardens.
Come and learn how to use the riches of our gardens and wild lands to sustain us in good health through the winter. Head along to our campaign tent with woodburning stove at the Ferryport Fruit Fest in Tayport to taste some of the delicious and mysterious concoctions, listen to a talk on unusual preserving methods, and then join a workshop on how to make your own simple remedies using elderberries, brambles, apples or onions. Recipes will be available to take away.
11.30 – 12.30 Open tent with tasting, music and informal preparation
1.00 – 1.30 Talk on different and more unusual methods of preserving
2 – 3.30 Hedgerow remedy workshop (please sign up at the beginning of the day to avoid disappointment!). Recipes: Elderberry Syrup, Apple and Bramble butter,Garlic honey.
The Seed Truck tent will be pitched along with the other Fruit Fest tents in the Burgh Chambers Gardens, opposite Gregory Hall. The location can be found here:
