If you’ve ever wondered about wild food in Fife, an upcoming event will show you how to harvest the wildest the kingdom has to offer.
Greener Kirkcaldy, an environmental community group is teaming up with the Fife Coast and Countryside Trust to discover delectable edibles in our woods and hedgerows. Learn how to identify, pick and prepare natural wild foods safely with the help of an expert. The event is billed as a way to reconnect with your local environment in a way our ancestors would.
Previous events have been hugely popular and the upcoming event is one of a seasonal series. Greener Kirkcaldy Chairperson, Suzy Goodsir says: ‘The events seemed to really capture the imagination and inspire people’.
All ages are welcome and are encouraged to share recipes and ideas with fellow wild food walkers.
The first event, focusing on leaves and greens will take place 4th June 11am- 1pm, meeting place to be arranged so keep an eye on the Greener Kirkcaldy website, for further information.
