This is one for the fridge and has a million uses. Try it in the morning with porridge, as a filling in pancakes or served with uncooked rolled oats and yoghurt. The kids love it.
any apples: eating, cooking, a mixture, past their best etc

cinnamon if you wish
Peel, core and slice all the apples and put them in a large lidded pot. Add enough water to cover the base of the pan to a couple of centimetres once the apples are in. Cook gently on a medium heat with the lid on. Check to make sure apples aren’t burning – add more water if needed. I like to leave some big lumps of apple in.
The more water you add the runnier the final mixture will be. Add cinnamon now if you’re using it and taste. If it needs sugar now’s the time to add it, a little at a time, till it suits you. Allow to cool and put in an airtight container in the fridge where it will last for days.
